Guerrilla Marketing Tactics in Westminster, Maryland
Tuesday 19 April 2011 - Filed under Reviews

Liberty Tax Service in Westminster, Maryland has been using some effective guerrilla marketing tactics to bring in more business. They have employed three part-time employees whose job is to dress like Lady Liberty and wave at traffic along the Md. 140 state highway.
This business has been using the strategy since its grand opening in January, encouraging its wavers to smile, wave and dance to generate honks and smiles from passing motorists. These motorists are more likely to remember Liberty's services when it comes time to have their taxes done. So far, roughly one-third of the company's clients have said that they came to Liberty because of the Statue of Liberty marketing gimmick. The wavers say they receive a lot of honks and mostly positive reactions, but on rare occasions they have been subject to abuse from passing motorists, including several shoes and drinks thrown out the windows.
